Outer Banks Independence Day-Lots of Celebrations

With the 4th of July falling on a Saturday this year, it may seem a bit inconvenient for visitors coming to the Outer Banks in late June or early July.Actually, looking at the timing of events and how things are scheduled, it doesn't look so bad. The Duck Independence Day Parade is going to be held on Friday, July 3rd-a wise move NC12 is closed down for an hour in the morning for the parade. It's fun but inconvenient during the week. It would be a very different story on a summer Saturday. The Whalehead Club is also holding their festivities on Friday. Things kick off on the grounds of Currituck Heritage Park-where the Whalehead Club is located-at 5:00 with fireworks around 9:00 p.m.Families coming on Saturday may be concerned that they'll miss the festivities, but there will be plenty of time to get to the home and still catch the nighttime show. Manteo has an all day celebration with fireworks at night and we just got confirmation that once again Nags Head will be lighting the night sky from Nags Head Pier. There is something magical about being on the beach on the edge of the continent and celebrating our nations birth. An alternative place to watch the fireworks is from the top of Jockey's Ridge. Some of the pop and bang of the fireworks are lost at that site, but it's great vantage point to watch two shows at once. Here at Joe Lamb Jr., & Associates & Associates we still have some good availability for the last week in June and the first week in July. Give us a call or check us out online and make a point of celebrating our nations birth on the Outer Banks this year.
