Now that spring is officially here on the Outer Banks all we need are the springlike temperatures . . . which the weather folks are telling us are coming soon. The upcoming week is looking quite nice. We just have to get through Sunday and then it's 50s and 60s for daytime temperatures all next week.
The forecast calls for fairly steady breeze from the south and southwest, which should get the kiteboarders and windsurfers out on the sound. The surfing hasn't been great, but there should be some improvement toward the end of the week.
One thing that is certain-when the weather warms up, the fishing action heats up. Springtime usually brings Spanish and king mackerel and spotted trout into the surf and piers. Same for the sounds. There have been a lot of reports of puppy drum down south. Hopefully they'll be moving north as the weather warms up.
Easter Weekend is next weekend with lots for the whole family to do. The Outer Banks is truly a place that creates family memories and Easter Weekend is a great time to be here.
