ItâåÛåªs springtime so it must be time for the Mustang Spring Jam. This will be the third of them and as far as we can tell, they keep getting better and better.
The date is next Sunday, May 18 at Mike Dianna's Grill Room in Corolla . . . well actually the parking lot in front of the Grill Room.
Last fall at the Mustang Music Festival, which is the two day event in October, one group just blew everybody away with their musicianship, creativity and showmanship. The Ben Miller Band is back this spring as the headliner and all we can say is don't miss this if you can get here.
They're instruments are so classically bluegrassâåÛåÓa washtub bass, wash board played with spoons and a guitarâåÛåÓthat the first thought is, âåÛåÏOMG, weâåÛåªre at an Arkansas hoedown.âåÛå And then they play and every pre-conceived notion about what can be done with these instruments is shattered. Imagine rock âåÛåªnâåÛåª roll bluegrass with jazz rifts thrown in. Amazing, thought provoking and worth the price of admission.
Which, by the way, is only $15.
And that admission price includes six bandsâåÛåÓand the Ben Miller Band is just the headliner of an amazing group of musicians, and a day filled with music, music, music.
The event is definitely family friendlyâåÛåÓkids under 12 are free and itâåÛåªs all for a good cause. Proceeds benefit the Corolla Wild Horse Fund.
