Southern Shores Civic Association
ENJOY THE PERKS OF BEING A MEMBER
The Southern Shores Civic Association is a non-profit community civic association that has been managing and preserving green spaces since 1976. Access to the beach in Southern Shores is limited, it is provided by 34 dune crossovers that are spaced throughout the town. Additional beach accesses with parking are located at Hillcrest Beach, between 8th and 9th avenues and the intersection of Duck Road ( NC12) and Ocean Blvd. There is limited parking available at Hillcrest beach access.
Parking at SSCA-owned properties is by SSCA permit only. Parking on designated Town Streets is by Town-issued sticker only, as a member of SSCA for the week you will be provided a parking pass that must be in your car window at all times when parked.
AS A MEMBER FOR THE WEEK ENJOY THE FOLLOWING
The Town of Southern Shores has many walking/bike paths and trails located along Hwy. 12 and Hwy. 158. The town urges bicyclists and pedestrians to use these paths for safe and relaxing travel. SSCA also makes sure to provide many green spaces to facilitate recreational activities.
You will be provided a parking pass to park at the beach access located at Hillcrest Beach between 8th and 9th avenues. Limited parking for ocean access is available at the intersection of Duck Road (NC 12) and Ocean Blvd.
Enjoy the outdoors at the sound-side park which has a picnic area and outdoor game area. Parking is located on N. Dogwood Trail. Also on N. Dogwood is a sound overlook with seating area, providing sunset views.
Sea Oats Park is also a perk for you to enjoy which offers a baskeball half court, childrens play-area and soccer field. This is located at the intersection of Sea Oats Trail, Hickory Trail and Hillcrest Drive.
