Trash Collection Information
All of our vacation rental homes provide a trash container or dumpster. Trash must be placed in the designated container and rolled to the edge of the street the night before your designated pick-up day. Please remember to roll containers back to the house and store them away from the street during non-collection days. Trash pick up for some areas is determined by location.

NAGS HEAD/SOUTH NAGS HEAD
Collection Days for the Blue Route are Monday and Thursday
Blue Route: All properties fronting the west side of S. Virginia Dare Trail and those east of S. Virginia Dare Trail, all properties south of Bark and Bainbridge Streets near Mile Post 11.5 that lie between S. Virginia Dare Trail and US 158/South Croatan Highway, all properties in the Village at Nags Head, including those on the west side of South Croatan Highway, and all properties on South Old Oregon Inlet Road.
Collection Days for the Green Route are Tuesday and Friday
Green Route: All properties west of US 158/South Croatan Highway (except for those in the Village at Nags Head), all properties north of Bark and Bainbridge Streets near Mile Post 11.5 that lie between South Virginia Dare Trail and US 158/South Croatan Highway, and properties accessed from US 64.
We try our best to update trash collection information as frequently as possible. It is important to note that trash schedules are determined by the County or the individual towns. For the most current and update information please visit your specific towns website.
LEARN ABOUT RECYCLING
Duck - Collection Day is MONDAY - Recycle containers are provided - put container out the night before.
Southern Shores - Collection Day is MONDAY - Recycle containers are provided - put container out the night before.
Kitty Hawk - Collection day is MONDAY - Drop off center open Monday, Thursday, and Saturday - 9:00am to 3:00pm. Directions to Kitty Hawk recycling: Turn west on West Kitty Hawk Road, across from the Kitty Hawk Post Office (approx. 4 milepost), follow West Kitty Hawk Road then turn left on Bob Perry Road there will be a small brown sign saying RECYCLE and an arrow pointing left on the shoulder of roadway. Stay on Bob Perry Road, the recycle center is on the right. There is also a Public Boat ramp and picnic area here.
Kill Devil Hills - Located at 701 Bermuda Bay Boulevard. To get to Kill Devil Hills recycling center: Turn right on Ocean Bay Boulevard if you are coming from the north. Turn left if coming from the south at the gas station. The center is on the left about one-half mile.
Nags Head - Collection day is MONDAY - there is no longer curbside recycling in Nags Head. Blue containers are for recycling. Recycling can be dropped off at town hall or the facility on Lark Street,
