Directions to the Outer Banks of North Carolina
By air or land, getting to the Outer Banks is easy. If you're planning your journey by car, we offer the following travel directions.
BY LAND
From the North - Follow I-95 South to Richmond, VA. Take I-295 South (Exit 84A) towards Rocky Mount for 14.7 Miles. Take I-64 East (Exit 28A) towards Norfolk/Virginia Beach for 64 Miles. Take I-664 South (Exit 264) towards Downtown/Newport News/Suffolk/Chesapeake for 20.1 Miles. Take I-64 West (Exit 15B) towards Chesapeake/Virginia Beach for 8 Miles. Take VA-168 (Exit 291B) towards Great Bridge/Nags Head for 34.7 Miles. Go South on VA-168 via the *Chesapeake Expressway to US-158 (VA-168 turns into US-158 at Barco, NC). Follow US-158, across the Wright Brothers Memorial Bridge.
Once across the bridge go approximately 2 miles (You will go through 5 stop lights), once past the 5th stop light, get into the left lane and start looking for Joe Lamb, Jr. & Associates. Our building is white with red trim, on the corner of US-158 and Fonck St. (1st Left after 5th Light).
If you are going to our Guest Services office it is a one story brick building, 3.8 miles further south on US 158. It is on the left, at the corner of E. Hayman and US-158.
From the West - Take I-40 East toward Rocky Mount to I-64 East. Follow I-64 East all the way to the Outer Banks.
To get to our main office in Kitty Hawk: Follow US-158 North to the 2 Milepost (Approximately 15 Miles). Turn Right onto Fonck St. Joe Lamb is the White Building with Red Trim on the Corner of US-158 and Fonck St.
To get to our Guest Services office in Kill Devil Hills: Follow US-158 North to the 5.8 Milepost (Approximately 11 Miles). The Guest Services office is a one story brick building on the right at the corner of E. Hayman and US-158.
From the South - Coming from South Carolina, take 1-95 towards Rocky Mount, NC. Take US-64 East. From Washington, NC take State Route 30 to Plymouth, NC and follow the directions above via US-64 East to The Outer Banks.

From the Eastern Shore - Take US-13 South from Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel to I-64. Follow signs to Chesapeake, VA. Go South on US-168 via the *Chesapeake Expressway to US-158 (VA-168 turns into US-158 at Barco, NC).
Follow US-158, across the Wright Brothers Memorial Bridge. *The Chesapeake Expressway is a $ 2.00 Toll Road. It is Route VA-168, a fast and convenient four-lane divided highway linking Interstate 64 in Chesapeake to North Carolina and the Outer Banks.
